The unfortunate incident, in which Legislative Chairman Swamy Goud was injured in Telangana State Assembly yesterday led to a chain of dramatic events. The Telangana State Assembly has taken strict disciplinary actions against the Congress MLAs today, suspending 11 of them, and handing life ban to two MLAs.
It looks like more drama is on the way. The Congress MLAs took part in a quick Legislative Party meeting. Sources close to the Congress party informed that the MLAs are seriously discussing the aspect of mass resignation.
It is learnt that the Congress MLAs are exploring ways on how to take the recent incident to the public. Currently, MLA Jeevan Reddy and Revanth Reddy are trying to convince senior leader Jana Reddy for the mass resignation.
With various public outreach programs like Bus Yatra and Public meetings planned, and elections looming close, the Congress MLAs believe this would be the best time to resign and go into the public completely. They are also planning to project that the TRS government is conspiring and hindering the opposition from raising questions about the farmers and unemployment of the youth in the assembly.
Few Congress leaders are looking at the possibility of approaching legal help, and might even file a petition with the Supreme Court and the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Overall, the TS Assembly Budget Sessions have unfolded more drama than the Parliament Budget Sessions itself.
