The Telangana Congress leaders are in jubilant mood as its internal survey indicates that the party is ready to come back to power, if elections are held today. The survey was commissioned by the Pradesh Congress Committee engaging a reputed agency from Mumbai.
The survey indicates if elections are held now, Congress party is sure to win 50 seats, among total number of 119 seats and it is having chances of winning in 20 more seats if plays its cards well. But, it was felt Congress has no chances at all in 20 seats. There would be bitter contest in the remaining seats.
This was revealed by Pradesh Congress Committee President N Uttam Kumar Reddy, at the PCC meeting. Particularly, it was found the party is very weak in northern parts of Telangana, besides Hyderabad city.
The Survey also states that all the seats, where party MLAs were defected to ruling TRS, Congress candidates are set to win. Reddy announced that keeping in view of this survey, starting from now the party will takes up steps to strengthen the party all over the state.
The party has decided to constitute high power committees with four to five senior party leaders in each constituency, where the party chances of winning are bleak. Uttam Kumar Reddy will himself monitor functioning of these committees personally, so that to ensure party should improve its position by the time of polls.
Congress party is found very weak in old districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Medak, Warangal and Nizamabad. Party has decided to formulate a special action plan to activate the party in these districts, besides Hyderabad city also.
Urging the party cadre to be brought into election mood, Reddy asked the party leaders to identify local issues in each constituency and concentrate in mobilising people on such issues.
