Telangana State Government took up the laborious task of ‘Comprehensive Land Survey program’. More than 10,000 government officials took part in this exercise to clean up decades-old pending land records. With the survey completed, and data available at the disposal of the Chief Minister’s office, the government is reading up for its blatant attack on Binami properties and lands.
The government made it a mandatory for all the land possessors, to link their ‘new passbooks’ with their respective Aadhar Cards. During the examination of the update records, the government authorities observed that few possessors, especially in Ranga Reddy and Medchal districts did not link their Aadhar cards with the land documents. The Telangana Government also issued a statement that they would henceforth recognize the lands that are not linked with Aadhar details as ‘Benami’ properties.
‘We will be issuing new issue new passbooks to those possessing assigned lands too. At the same time, we will double verify the records, while entering the details into the passbook. The details of lands owned (other than farmlands) by the farmers in the same village, will be featured in a special table in the passbook,’ said a revenue official.
The recent move from the Telangana Government is aimed at curbing the Binami properties in the state.
