Though the deadline for the submission of nominations in Telangana elections is 19th of this month, there are only two working days – Saturday and Monday – are available for the candidates to submit both the nominations and affidavits.
Till Friday, as many as 854 nominations were received by the Election Authorities and the day-5 of nominations has experienced as many as 304 submissions. The Congress candidates submitted 108 nominations followed by BJP (86), CPM (24), CPI (1), NCP (3), BSP (30), TRS (112), TDP (16), AIMIM (6) and Independents (468).
Sources from the Congress party told that the TPCC chief Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy would submit his nomination for Hujurnagar segment on Saturday after performing Puja at the local Hanuman Temple. He would submit the copies at 12 noon as per the muhurtha prescribed by Pandits.
On Day-5, prominent leaders from congress including Mr. Shabbir Ali (Kamareddy), Mr. Jagga Reddy (Sangareddy) and Mr. Komati Reddy Rajagopal Reddy (Munugodu) completed the process of stage-I in the poll-fight. Film Actor Mr. Venumadhav’s nomination was rejected by the RDO of Kodada due to lack of required documents. Mr. Venumadhav told that he would file nomination on Saturday.
