Naga Chaitanya is shooting for Thandel, the most expensive film in his career. Chandoo Mondeti is the director and Sai Pallavi is the leading lady. There are a lot of speculations about the film’s release date. The film was initially announced for December 20th release but there are speculations that the film may join Sankranthi 2025 race. For now, nothing has been finalized but there are a lot of factors considered.
Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule is slated for December 6th release and the film is the biggest bet for Allu Arjun. Allu Aravind will take a chance to clear the path for Christmas as Puspha 2: The Rule can have a dream run. Thandel will not hit the screens for Christmas and the post-production work too will not be wrapped up by that time.
Ram Charan’s Game Changer, Balakrishna’s film, Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi film, Sundeep Kishan’s Majaka, Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ multi-starrer film along with Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly are in the Sankranthi race. Allu Aravind will also avoid clash with Ram Charan’s Game Changer and Chaitanya will not compete with his uncle Venkatesh. If Venkatesh’s film is out of the race, Thandel may take a chance for release. There is also a chance for Thandel for Sankranthi if some of the above films will walk out of the race.
The team of Thandel is also considering a Republic Day release for the film. They will not push the film as there are a lot of financials involved. Netflix bagged the digital rights of the film for a whopping price and they are mounting pressure about the release.
Considering all these, Thandel will hit the screens in January 2025.
