Hyderabad: Only those who’re unlikely to get party tickets for the forthcoming elections, are leaving TDP, said China Rajappa, AP Home Minister, who predicts two or three more leaders from East Godavari may leave the party.
“Some leaders with vested interest are threatening party. Only leaders, who don’t have support or following in their constituencies, are leaving the party, which can allow any more blackmailing tactics. TDP has people’s support and it doesn’t matter for the party whoever leaves as East Godavari is a strong base for TDP. Our party will retain power in Andhra Pradesh,” said China Rajappa.
Responding to the recent death of a farmer Koteshwara Rao, the home minister said that police tried their best to save the farmer’s life. Resorting to kill people and playing politics over dead body are characteristics of BJP and YSRCP.”
Another minister Narayana said that Amanchi Krishnamohan and Avanti Srinivas left TDP as an internal survey forecast their defeat in the forthcoming elections. After arriving for a conclusion that they may not get party tickets, Amanchi and Avanti left TDP and joined YSRCP, he said.
“TDP advised Avanti and Amanchi to change their attitude and work extensively on welfare schemes making them reach out to beneficiaries. The party high-command on several occasions advised them to work hard to win hearts of people. But, they failed to do so,” said Narayana.
