Telugu Desam party national general secretary Nara Lokesh Naidu is not ready to take the party’s defeat in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections as the end of the road. He Participated in a party review meeting held by TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu at Vijayawada. Talking to media Lokesh said even though TDP lost the election, the party’s had secured more votes than what it polled last time in the GHMC elections. According to Lokesh, TDP had got 1.60 lakh votes more even though the polling was very low. He said TRS needs more than 60 thousand crore to fulfill the assurance the party indiscriminately had given to Hyderabad voters. ” We will see how the party would implement all these poll assurances. We will exert pressure on the government to ensure all these assurance implemented,” he said.
Lokesh, who spearheaded the GHMC campaign, reacted first time on the results. Earlier he simply said he was respecting the verdict of Hyderabad people. Commenting on the poor outcome of the GHMC elections, Lokesh said the TDP had the experiences of playing test matches. ” Just because we lost a T-20 match, TDP doesn’t forget the experience of playing the test match,” he said.
