What would be the cost if an IAS officer stays in a five star hotel for three days? Two lakhs? Yes, Andhra Pradesh government footed the bill for Rs 1,99,343 for the stay of an IAS officer of union home ministry in a Five Star hotel in Hyderabad.
Last year, a senior IAS officer, Anant Kumar Singh, Additional Secretary (CS), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, visited Hyderabad from 19.03.2015 to 22.03.2015. Though he came on the official visit, in connection with the implementation of the provisions of the Reorganization Act, state government extended him state guest facilities and provided accommodation and boarding facilities as State Guest. He was given accommodation in M/s ITC Hotel, ITC Kakatiya Hyderabad.
The Hotel raised a bill for Rs.1,99,343/- (Rupees One Lakh Ninety nine thousands three hundred and forty three only) (Rs.1,64,217 + 35,126=1,99,343). Government today sanctioned the amount and a cheque has been issued in favor of M/s ITC Hotel, ITC Kakatiya, Hyderabad.
