The Andhra Pradesh TDP MPs took the agitation over injustice to Andhra Pradesh in the recent budget, and Centre failing to fulfil its commitments, to the next level.
Speaking at a press meet, AP Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao said, ‘the Centre should abide by its commitments towards AP. Extending our support to the AP MPs, we have carried out protests statewide. TDP is ready to break its alliance with the BJP if it comes to comprising the state’s benefits. We will go to any extent to get our demands fulfilled if the Centre doesn’t respond responsibly’.
Similarly, TDP MP CM Ramesh lashed out against the Centre and YSRCP. He held the BJP (and Modi), responsible for the injustice to AP in the recent Union Budget and failing to fulfil the commitments made in the Special Package draft. CM Ramesh alleged that YSRCP Vijay Sai Reddy is against the development of the state, and that’s why he tried to object Sujana Chowdary, who was voicing his opinion to the Centre. CM Ramesh stated that TDP MPs will continue to protest in Lok Sabha.
Adding to the above, Penumulu MLA (Krishna District), Bode Prasad showed his protest, by tonsuring his head. He labelled the Centre as ‘irresponsible’. ‘I took this decision so that the emotions and sentiments of the people of AP will be felt by the Centre,’ said the MLA.
