Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials today to develop Tirupati as Hardware and Electronic Hub of Andhra Pradesh. Reviewing the activities of IT department, Naidu said about 1000 acres of land was available nearby Tirupati Interanation Airport. He said already four companies had set shop there. He opined that Tirupati Hub would be more convenient for future mobile manufacturing units. In the meeting IT special secretary Phani Kishore informed the chief minister that there had plans to develop an IT park in Amaravati capital region as well and requested the CM to allot 500 acres of land in the CRDA area. Phani Kishore informed that the IT department had embarked on a massive program of training all the officials in the government in using the tabs. So far, he said, about 16000 officials had been trained by November 14, another 40 thousand government employees would get training in handling the Tabs for governmental purposes. Hoping that the training would greatly improve the performance of government officials, he asked the official to get ready for setting up of E-Pragati in capital region and for an MoU with EGL.
