Triangle groups have been formed in major political parties including TRS, Congress and BJP in Nizamabad and all the groups are targeting party tickets for upcoming elections.
Politics in Nizamabad Urban assembly segment, which born in 2009 delimitation of constituencies, has become hot topic with huge competition between leaders from same party. This assembly segment was a stronghold to Congress party but, it lost it in 2014 elections and the voters elected TRS. While Ganesh Gupta, who defeated D.Srinivas (then Congress leader and joined in TRS later), is sitting MLA from this segment and expecting party ticket for 2019 elections, D. Srinivas has been preparing grounds for introducing his son Sanjay. After the entry of D. Srinivas in TRS, equations in the politics of Nizamabad Urban have been changing day-by-day. The TRS workers split into two groups – DS Group and Ganesh Gupta group. As Sanjay has already started attracting voters with social service like ‘Free Marriages’ for his community (Munnuru Kapu) and health camps across the assembly segment, Ganesh Gupta went into defence and planning to launch Padayatras to reach voters. Besides these two leaders, Mr. Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy who is sitting MLA of Nizamabad Rural also desires in contesting from Urban in 2019.
In congress, three key leaders are eying on Nizamabad Urban ticket. While MLC Akula Lalitha desires to contest from here, leaders of Pradesh Congress Committee Ratnakar and Mahesh Kumar Goud have been visiting high command for tickets in upcoming elections. Congress has hopes on the ticket and wanting getting benefits with the group-war in TRS.
Even in BJP, there is triangle competition for Nizamabad Urban. The Ex-MLA Yendala Laxminarayana, who lost his seat in last elections, is seeking party ticket in 2019 general elections. Similarly, Mr. Baswa Laxminarayana who quit congress and joined BJP desires to contest from here. Suryanarayana, who lost election in 2014, is also seeking ticket from high command for 2019 elections.
