Hyderabad: Telangana state government make a pitch for establishing a Saudi Arabian embassy in Hyderabad. A delegation of several Telangana ministers, Telangana Rasthra Samiti Members of Parliament led by the State Deputy Chief Minister Md. Mahmood Ali have met the Saudi Ambassodor to India, at New Delhi, Dr Saud Mohammed Alsati and made a request to this effect.
The request has been made as it would help lakhs of people from Telangana going to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in particular those going on Hajj pilgrimage. However, surprisingly, the delegation reportedly not made any request on the woes of lakhs of people going to Saudi from Telangana and working there under hostile conditions.
Earlier, the delegation has also met the Union Minister for Minority Affairs Dr Najma Heptulla and requested for increase in the quota of the number of Hajj pilgrims from Telangana.
But, the delegation of leaders, ministers and MPs, however, had met Union Minister’s for Textiles, Railways and Agriculture and pointed out how the cotton formers in the state are deprived from minimum support price to cotton, demanding an immediate drought relief of Rs 1,000 crore and reconsideration of the decision of Railway Board, shelving the proposed setting up rail wagon, coach factory in Warangal district of the state.
