The Telangana High Court in December 2015 directed the Revenue and Endowments Departments and Wakf board to prepare the list of prohibited properties and link with the online registration system in all sub-registrar offices. These orders were issued to eschew individual from registering government lands. However, the Revenue department made futile attempts to be complaint the court orders.
As per the reports in DC, Revenue minister Md Mahmood Ali cited that there were errors in the list which the officers took some time to rectify. He allegedly said that radical changes were made to the list and a proper verification is being conducted delaying uploading of the list.
The Miyapur land scam has quaked the TRS government specifically revenue department. Consequently, officers have restarted the process of preparation of the list of prohibited properties.
These properties will be banned from registration on the revenue department portal mabhoomi.telangana.gov.in. The portal was launched in 2014 to keep all land records in public domain where this list of prohibited properties was expected to be seen.
The court intended to help people keep informed of the disputed and prohibited properties so that they will be able to verify if someone tried to dupe them.
