Telangana Government on Tuesday banned all forms strikes in Telangana state road transport corporation (TSRTC) in view of the aggressive stance taken by some employees’ unions and to prevent the disruption of the services that hit the revenues.
Following the division of the corporation the Telangana government is attempting to reform the TSRTC to lift it from the current losses. Following the bifurcation of APSRTC the TSRTC has come into existence from 03.06.2015. According to TS RTC officials the strike notices given by the various employees organization are proving the reform process an uphill task. So, the RTC requested the government to invoke the provision of sub-sections (1) and (3) of section-3 of the Andhra Pradesh State Essential Services Maintenance Act (Andhra Pradesh Act 20 of 1971) (ESMA), for a period of six months with immediate effect.
Invocation of ESMA prohibits the strikes by employees in all services of TS RTC for a period of six months.
