The pre-release event of ‘Katamarayudu‘ was graced by Ravi Prakash CEO of TV9 and Narendra Chowdhary Chairman of NTV among others. Both the channels are the media partners to the movie, so their presence was attributed to the same. However, this meeting is all set to go beyond the movie partnership. If the grapevine is to be believed, Ravi Prakash and Narendra Chowdhary will start a new joint venture. This is expected to be a music channel. The speculations are ripe especially with Ravi Prakash visiting the NTV office couple of times. The channel will run from the NTV office itself. Chowdhary appears to deem that since TV9 and NTV have been the top players in the Telugu electronic media, this alliance will only give more power to the leaders.
On similar lines of, Venkata Krishna who is all set to launch AP Times, buzz is that Ravi Prakash will also start a channel based out of AP. TV5 which garnered bad name due to the manipulation in BARC ratings will start its religious channel. CPI’s TV99 which failed to catch the pulse in the Telugu states is likely to be monitored only by CPI Telangana soon. The growth rate of Sakshi has been increasing while the much hyped V6 is lagging behind. Andhra Jyothi which invested on cable operators is picking up steadily likewise 10TV is on a balanced pace.
