The law has done its duty and there is no need for anybody to spread rumours in such a sensational case, said Cyberabad police commissioner Sajjanar. He said that there were 10 police officials present at Chatanpally spot when the encounter took place. The four accused snatched weapons from the officials and opened fire. Two police officials were injured. SI Venkatesh suffered serious head injury and constable Aravind Goud sustained mild injuries. Sajjanar said that the two injured officials were immediately rushed to a local hospital and then to Care Hospital for better treatment. The police retaliated fire only after the four accused did not surrender but opened fire despite repeated requests by police.
Sajjanar said that the four accused were found to be hardcore criminals. Details were being collected from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other places where they might have been involved in human burning cases. Sajjanar appealed to the media not to indulge in wild speculation. Some media persons are asking for minute-to-minute developments but such sensationalisation would not help in such a sensational case. National and local media attended in large numbers at the media conference of ‘encounter specialist’ Sajjanar.
