Jagan Regime is receiving blow after blow from different institutions these days. Yet, the government is going forward adamantly. Recently, the AP High Court found fault with the government for not respecting the power purchase agreements and also court orders relating to this. Against this backdrop, Union Minister for Power RK Singh wrote a letter taking strong objection to Jagan’s unreasonable and arbitrary policy on solar and wind power companies. This is the second time he is writing such a letter.
Singh has categorically asked Jagan Circar to honour the PPAs. He dismissed the allegations made by YCP government that there were irregularities committed by TDP in signing PPAs during its regime. The Union Minister told Jagan that unit cost in AP is just Rs. 4.84 which is far less compared to Rs. 5.75 in Rajasthan and Rs. 5.56 in Maharashtra.
Reacting on this, former CM Chandrababu Naidu mockingly said that the Jaganmohan Reddy government has become thick-skinned and insensitive. CM Jagan is not changing though his policies are facing serious criticism from all institutions. There are Union Minister’s letters, Union Government Secretary’s representations, High Court orders, concerns expressed by RBI, foreign embassies, etc. But Jagan blindly went ahead on reviewing PPAs which has now reached a dead-end. Ultimately, Andhra people will have to pay for all this.
