In what could be a shameless act ever committed, two youth in Bengaluru allegedly raped a 28-year-old woman after strangling her to death. The two accused identified as Azad Ali alias Raju, 20, and Shyam alias Ghanshyam, 22, allegedly engaged in an intercourse with the dead body of the victim.
Though, the incident took place on August 15 at Chunchaghatta Main Road, it came to light on Friday following post-mortem report and subsequent arrest of the accused.
According to the police, the victim was identified as Urmila Devi, wife of street food seller Sanjayprasad Gupta. During the investigation, Raju, who had worked under Gupta, developed grudge over Gupta after the latter delayed his salary of Rs 7,500.
The two even had an altercation over the issue when Raju demanded his salary be paid without delay. Enraged over this, Raju along with his friend Ghanshyam planned to rob Gupta’s house.
Both the accused, who went to Gupta’s house, found Urmila alone. Smashing her head with the help of stone, both of them allegedly raped her. Later, they fled away from the scene with Rs 24,500 and boarded a train to Uttar Pradesh.
