2Point0 overseas first day collections

The blockbuster combination of Shankar and Rajinikanth is expected to set the take the overseas box office by a storm with their latest offering 2Point0. Shockingly, the film which opened on Thursday to decent reviews couldn’t post strong numbers on its first day including premiers.

As per the latest trade updates, 2Point0 collected a gross of $ 900K ( all languages) by the end of Thursday including Wednesday premiers. This is a terrible start for such a massive combination and the embarrassing numbers have come as a huge surprise for trade analysts as 2Point0 is one of the eagerly awaited films this year. What is more shocking is that these numbers are less than some of the disastrous Telugu films like Spyder and Aagadu.

Even Rajinikanth’s flop film Kabali collected around $ 2.7 M on its first day. High ticket prices, poor buzz and lack of strong publicity in overseas are the reasons for this dismal opening of one of the highly anticipated films this year. The film needs to have a super strong weekend to end as a respectable grosser in overseas.
