The dull phase for Telugu movies in overseas has been extended by yet another week as the latest releases failed to make an impact at box office. After Sammohanam and Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, none of the recent releases managed to take a good opening in overseas.
As Pantham and Tej I L U failed to draw the attention of overseas audience, trade circles have pinned a lot of hopes on this week’s releases. But, all three films that released this week have disappointed the trade circles with their lackluster run.
Mega hero Kalyaan Dhev’s Vijetha which released with Wednesday premiers couldn’t rake in decent numbers in the first week. The film collected a meagre 21K by the end of Friday.
Karthi’s Chinna Babu also failed to garner the attention of overseas audience. The Telugu and Tamil version have collectively registered $ 32K from 60 locations.
RX 100 fared better than Vijetha and Chinna Babu as it collected $ 43K from 71 locations.
As it is Summer vacation for kids, families would come in good number if one good films hits the screens in the next couple of weeks. We have to wait and see if the dull phase eases off in the coming weeks or not.
