Tollywood has witnessed back to back blockbusters at the US box office. After Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam, it is Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu that has set the cash registers ringing in the just concluded weekend.
Despite the monstrous release of Avengers Infinity War, Bharat Ane Nenu did well in the second weekend to surpass the $ 3 Million mark at US box office.
After a sensational first week with $ 2,788K haul, the political thriller collected $ 106K and $ 153K on its second Friday and Saturday respectively. Bharat Ane Nenu also emerged as the biggest hit in Mahesh Babu’s career and fourth highest grosser in US.
Rangasthalam collected $ $ 122K and $202K on its second Friday and Saturday respectively. By the end of second weekend, Bharat Ane Nenu, which collected close to $ 100K on Sunday, is tantalisingly close to Rangasthalam.
Rangasthalam grossed $ 3211K and Bharat Ane Nenu collected $ 3153K by the end of two weeks. Trade analysts opined that Bharat Ane Nenu performed on par with expectations given that there no offers and the massive release of Avengers Infinity War.
On the other side, Rangasthalam collected $ 2K and $ 7K on its fifth Friday and Saturday and the total gross is close to $ 3.5 Million mark.
Trade circles predict that Bharat Ane Nenu might end $ 100K – 150k short of Rangasthalam in its full run in US.
