Tollywood’s latest biopic Yatra, which is based on former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhar Reddy, is having a below par run at the Overseas box office in the first weekend. After an average start with $ 71K from Thursday premiers, the film had a dull Friday with a meagre $ 38K.
Yatra released in good number of locations in USA. So, the film need to collect atleast $ 300K to recoup expenses. Going by the current trend, it looks like the film will join the list of recent box office disasters like Vinaya Vidheya Rama and Majnu which collected negligible share in overseas.
Yatra received decent reviews from partisan portals for the emotional portrayal of the situations that led to Rajasekhar Reddy’s historical padayatra in the united Andhra Pradesh. Mahi V Raghav is the director and legendary actor Mammootty played the lead role. 70 mm Entertainments produced the film.
