It has been another dull weekend for Telugu films at the overseas box office as the new releases failed to draw the attention of audience.
Bold romantic entertainer RX 100 is the only film among recent releases that managed to collect some noticeable numbers in the just concluded weekend. The film, starring newcomers and made on a shoestring budget, collected $ 90K from 83 centres.
Mega hero Kalyaan Dhev’s debut film is a complete wash out in overseas as it collected an embarrassing $ 39K by the end of weekend. The age old storyline and weak narration haven’t helped the film despite some decent performances by Murali Sharma and Kalyaan Dhev.
Karthi’s rural drama Chinna Babu also had a disappointing run in the first weekend. The Telugu and Tamil versions have collected $ 82K.
Last week’s releases Pantham and Tej I L U have almost completed their run in overseas with $ 72k and $ 73K respectively.
