Despite Boyapati Srinu’s poor track record in overseas, trade circles expected decent openings for Vinaya Vidheya Rama as Charan delivered a non Baahubali hit with Rangasthalam. Shockingly, the action drama is off to a terrible start in overseas with embarrassing Thursday premiers.
As per the latest reports, Vinaya Vidheya Rama grossed just over $ 100K from its premiers and shocked trade circles. The total premiers might end below $ 150K by the end of the day making it the most disappointing start for a big ticket film in recent times. Easy, these numbers are less when compared with the premiers medium range heroes like Nani and Vijay Devarakonda. Recent films like AWE, NOTA, Tholiprema performed better than VVR on premiers day.
Ram Charan created decent base in USA with Dhruva. With Rangasthalam emerging as the biggest blockbuster of all time after Baahubali series, trade circles billed him as a one of the reliable actors in current generation. Unfortunately, Vinaya Vidheya Rama couldn’t benefit much from Rangasthalam success. Boyapati Srinu’s poor form, mass loaded trailers and poor planning seems to have heavily impacted the premiers in overseas.
