The United States government replacing the Worldwide Caution dated September 9, 2016, issued a travel warning to its citizens. The Trump administration is gauging terrorist groups in South Asia which may allegedly plan attacks against U.S. facilities, citizens, and interests in the South and Central Asia
In the travel warning, it even mentioned India saying that “Extremist elements are also active in India, as outlined in a recent emergency message.”
Travel Warnings are in effect for the countries Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, which share border with India.
Even though US doesn’t support Pakistan a terrorist state, in its travel warning, it mentioned that, “A number of established terrorist organizations, indigenous sectarian groups, and other militants pose a danger to U.S. citizens in Pakistan.”
In its warning for Afghanistan the government said, “U.S. citizens should avoid travel to Afghanistan, as no region in the country is immune from violence.”
It also said that the terrorists have hit a wide variety of targets and institutions in Bangladesh.
The US government urged its citizens abroad to monitor the local news and maintain contact with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
In the warning it said that the terrorist groups including ISIS, al-Qa’ida, their associates, and those inspired by such organizations, are intent on attacking U.S. citizens wherever they are. In addition to concerns stemming from terrorism, the US Department of state advised travelers to be alert at the possibility of political unrest, violence, demonstrations, and criminal activities.
