In a significant setback for YSRCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi, the High Court has dismissed his bail petition in connection with the attack on the Gannavaram TDP office. Vamsi, who is currently lodged in Vijayawada jail, was arrested recently in a kidnapping and assault case involving Dalit youth Satyavardhan. The court’s decision comes as a blow to the YSRCP leader, who has been embroiled in legal troubles over the past few months.
Police have reportedly gathered substantial evidence against Vamsi in the kidnapping and assault case. Technical evidence, including CCTV footage, has been crucial in building the case. Footage from a gated community in Hyderabad’s Rayadurgam, where Vamsi resides, has provided key leads. Additionally, CCTV clips from a flat in Chebrolu, Srinivas’s residence, and a hotel in Visakhapatnam show Vamsi’s associates transporting Satyavardhan. A special team from Vijayawada has taken custody of this footage, strengthening the case against Vamsi.
In a related development, the police have filed a petition in the SC/ST court seeking 10 days of custody for Vamsi. They argue that further investigation is needed to uncover additional details and identify other suspects involved in the case.
