Dynamic leader and Prajakutami candidate Mr. Vanteru Pratap Reddy, who raises his voice against Chief Minister KCR, fell sick on Sunday due to hunger strike.
Alleging his phone was tapped by the police, Mr. Vanteru launched an indefinite hunger strike at the office of Election Returning Officer (ERO) of Gajwel Assembly Segment on Sunday morning. In the evening, police lifted him from the office and shifted to the police station. After one-hour, he was released after obtaining station bail. Following these circumstances, the followers of Vanteru held a rally where he was suddenly collapsed and went into unconscious.
The Congress workers shifted him to a local private hospital where he got first-aid and doctors advised to shift him to Hyderabad for better treatment as his condition was very serious. He was immediately shifted to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad and doctors who attended the case told media that his condition was serious and they were treating him in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). At Mid-night, Mr. Vanteru got conscious and requested doctors to discharge him as he has to attend election campaigns and following his request, doctors discharged him.
Later at hospital while speaking to media, Mr. Vanteru said that the ruling party TRS was adopting illegal methods to gain in the elections and police was supporting the TRS.
