Actor Varun Tej is teaming up with director Harish Shankar for the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster ‘Jigarthanda’. Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta are the producers for the Telugu version.
The formal announcement of this crazy project has been made this Sunday. The film has been titled as Valmiki and the logo poster is interestingly designed with a film reel and a pistol as the story revolves around an aspiring filmmaker and dreaded gangster.The regular shooting will commence shortly. Devi Sri Prasad will render the soundtrack and Ayanaka Bose will crank the camera. The female leads and other cast will announced very soon.
Varun Tej, who is riding high with the success of F2, impressed with the story and signed the dotted line. Harish Shankar adapted the story as per the sensibilities of Telugu audience. It is learnt that Varun will play Bobby Simha’s role in the original version. Who will play Siddharth’s role hasn’t been revealed yet.
