The growing closeness of union minister M Venkaiah Naidu is said to be the prime reason for isolation of once all powerful Andhra Pradesh state government’s media advisor Dr Parakala Prabhakar. It may be recalled that Prabhakar is husband of union minister of state Mrs Nirmala Sitaraman, who is not having cordial relations with Venkaiah Naidu.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who succeeded in securing poll alliance with BJP with the active support of union finance minister Arun Jaitly, has appointed Prabhakar as his media advisor after the polls, only on the plea from Jaitly. Though Naidu had never had any soft corner towards Parakala, has decided to oblige Jaitly and given him a prominent role, even allowing him to attend cabinet meetings.
In initial days, he used to accompany Chief Minister during all his foreign tours and visits to national capital, besides visits of foreign delegates and all important key meetings in the state government. This euphoria has continued till last y ear’s Godavar pushkarams. However, he is now not seen close to power corridors.
Jaitly is said to be `God Father’ for Nirmala in BJP. In the recent union cabinet reshuffle when BJP chief Amit Shah insisted to send back her to the party to take up the task of media relations, it was Jaitly who had reportedly persuaded prime minister to continue her in the cabinet.
But her sudden growth at Delhi power circles, makes Venkaiah Naidu restless. Besides she started associating with forces opposing his domination within Andhra Pradesh BJP circles. On the other hand, only till recently both Chandrababu Naidu and Venkaiah naidu started showing lot of comradeship since last few months. Both of them leaving no occasion to praise each other.
Several Telugu Desam ministers and leaders are attending felicitation functions being organised by Venkaiah Naidu’s supporters within BJP across Andhra Pradesh, while several prominent BJP leaders are keeping away from such functions. The growing closeness between two Naidu’s is said to be the prime reason for `ignoring’ Prabhakar’s presence in AP state government.
