Central Minister Venkaiah Naidu, who is known for his oratory skills and punch lines, is missing from public appearance in Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, he was seen in one or the other part in Andhra Pradesh. But, since the question of “Special Status” came into the picture, Venkaiah limited himself to Delhi. Moreover, a recent statement by BJP Incharge Siddharth Nath Singh on issue of ‘Special Status to Andhra Pradesh’ also might have become one of the reasons for Venkaiah’s absence in Andhra Pradesh.
In a recent core committee meeting, BJP Incharge, Siddharth Nath Singh confirmed that no special status would be granted to Andhra Pradesh. And this has led to heated situation between TDP and BJP. And this situation might be the reason for Venkaiah’s absensce in Andhra Pradesh. He might have felt that it is not a good time to visit Andhra Pradesh. Also, it is popularly known that during his visit to AP, Venkaiah praises AP CM Chandra Babu. But, in the present scenario, his visit to Andhra Pradesh and his appreciations to AP CM is not going to serve any purpose and in turn they may turn into trouble from his own party BJP itself. Previously, there was a speculation that Rajyasabha’s berth was confirmed to Venkaiah from TDP. Later, It is known that TDP is not ready to re-nominate Nirmala Sitharaman to Rajya Sabha. And this is also one of the reasons for heated situations between TDP and BJP. Taking all these reasons into consideration, Venkaiah might have decided to stay away from Andhra Pradesh.
