Venkaiah Naidu is unhappy over TDP. He is upset with TDP leaders for they joined chorus with YSR Congress and Congress in dragging his name into the controversy that surrounds granting of special status to Andhra Pradesh.
He is said to have threatened to disown Andhra Pradesh. “I will soon announce that I will have nothing to do with state. If you want the AP Reorganization Act implemented, your are free to meet any central minister you like. I won’t accompany you,” is what he reportedly to conveyed to a couple of state ministers and BJP MPs in parliament yesterday.
On the occasion of state HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s visit to New Delhi, central minister YS Chowdary, state health minister Kamineni Srinivas, BJP MPs Haribabu and Gokaraju Ganga Raju paid a courtesy visit to Naidu’ s office in Parliament House.
In the informal meeting, he took objection to the way TDP MPs started blaming him and the Prime Minister alleging that they had backpedaled on the assurance of grating special category status to AP.
“Forgetting the fact that we( TDP and BJP) have been working together in the state, you (TDP) have also started blaming me in the parliament with regard to non-granting of special status to Andhra Pradesh. Your behavior has pained me. Enough is enough. I don’t get myself involved in the state affairs,” he reportedly told Ganta in the meeting.
He is said to have conveyed to BJP MPs and state ministers that how hard he had worked to get many provision of AP reorganization Act implemented especially in the matter of setting up central institutes in the state. Naidu was peeved because TDP MPs often referred to him whenever they raised the matter either in Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha. “Why should TDP talk like Congress and blame me just because I demanded ten-year special category status to AP in 2014,” he asked the MPs with the hope that Ganta would convey his sentiments to TDP boss. Has Naidu’s irritation got anything with the signals that he is unlikely to be remoninated to Rajya Sabha from AP?
