Tamil Nadu acting Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, who has been playing crucial role in recent development of the state, particularly from the last four and half months, has reportedly decided to record all developments in a `book form’, first time in the country by a Governor. In an attempt, he seems to be trying to give answers to various speculations and also allegations on the role of the Governor in these developments.
According to sources, he has decided to bring out his versions in the form of a booklet narrating all happenings in the state, starting from J Jayalalithaa’s admission in Apollo Hospital in critical condition on September 23 to latest development of the inviting E Palanisami to form the government, on February 16.
It may be recalled that many accused that the BJP tried to get foot-hold in Tamil Nadu politics, manipulating events using Raj Bhavan. It was also accused that O Panneerselvam revolt was `planted’ by BJP. He has reportedly decided to put everything on record, since he believes there are doubts being expressed by different quarters about the role of the Governor.
After forming a `regular’ government in the state, it is learnt that Vidyasagar Rao has felt the need for using a factsheet on the developments involving his own role in change of governments. This would forms part of the Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan records since he may not be have the additional responsibility as acting Governor for long.
He is intending to explain all factors that led to his decision starting from allotment of portfolios, asking Panneerselvam to convene Cabinet meetings, death of Jayalalithaa, making Panneerselvam as Chief Minister, his resignation, election of V K Sasikala as AIADMK Legislature Party leader, her staking claim and inviting Palanisami to form the government.
This will also include Supreme Court’s verdict in disproportionate assets case, various constitutional issues involved during this period, including precedents and options before him, besides advises obtained from legal experts.
