Ilayathalapathy Vijay has been busy shooting for his next movie Mersal which will hit the screens during Diwali this year. The actor carries a huge fan base across Tamil Nadu and a recent incident left the actor in shock. Dhanya Rajendran, a lady journalist for News Minute happened to watch Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal and she tweeted that the film was even worse than Vijay’s Sura which released years ago. Vijay’s fans started insulting the lady journalist in all the available ways. She was abused sexually, got rape threats and has been badly insulted.

Dhanya Rajendran was left in shock after she received 63,500 tweets in just three days. She approached the Cyber Crime and submitted the screenshots of the abusive tweets. Right after a week, actor Vijay issued an official statement that everyone has the right to criticize a film. He even said that he respects woman a lot and felt unfortunate about the incident. Vijay requested his fans not to hurt woman. The Cybercrime police are busy collecting the information of the culprits and most of them deleted their twitter handles.
