Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi has denied allegations that Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s convoy prevented students from appearing for JEE (Main) examinations in Pendurthi area.
The CP clarified that no traffic restrictions were imposed during the Deputy CM’s visit. He stated that claims made by some students and parents were completely false, adding that police tracked students’ cell phones and reviewed CCTV footage to confirm their findings.
“The students themselves arrived late and are now blaming the police,” said Commissioner Bagchi. He further explained that the Deputy CM’s convoy only passed through the area after students had already reached the examination center.
Earlier, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan had ordered an investigation into reports claiming students missed their JEE exam due to his convoy. He had instructed Vizag police to investigate how long traffic was halted, the traffic situation along exam center routes, and whether traffic control measures were implemented on service roads.
