Visakhapatnam will soon become the city of seven beaches- a rare distinction for any city in the Coromandel Coast. Andhra Pradesh government has drawn up a plan to develop seven beaches from Ramakrishna Beach to Bheemunipatnam Beach corridor. State government on Thursday has given administrative sanction to spend Rs 13.49 crore on the developmental works. The works in three Beach destinations namely Ramakrishna Beach, Rushikonda Beach and Bheemunipatnam Beach are underway and works of remaining 4 Beaches will be be taken up now following administration sanction.
The ongoing and newly proposed 7 beach destinations are RK Beach, Bheemunipatnam Beach, Rushikonda Beach, Sagar Nagar Beach, Yarada Beach, Thotlakonda Beach and Mangamarripeta Beach.
Once the Vizag-Bhimli Beach corridor development is completed the city would become the most favored South Indian tourist destination.
