Commissioner of Police of Vijayawada has dismissed reports that he is under pressure from any quarter and promised that WHOEVER is behind the Call Money Scandal would be brought to book.
Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Commissioner of Police Gowtham Sawang assured that whoever are behind the Call Money Scandal would be brought to book. Bringing the two main accused before the media here on Sunday, he said that Y Sriramurthy and D Rajesh were arrested and they were charged for committing crimes under Sections 420, 354 A (1) (2), 384 and 509 for cheating and on other counts. The Commissioner of Police said that investigations are on and dismissed the allegations that police were being pressurized to influence the investigation, to save those closer to the ruling party. He said that two task force teams and group of local police have been formed to investigate into the scandal. Sawang said that the Call Money Scheme has been going on in Vijayawada for quite sometime, and most of those entangled in the Call Money Web are petty business men. Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh has suspended a Transco officials following his name figuring in the Call Money Scandal.
