After Saaho, it is Megastar Chiranjeevi’s patriotic drama SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy which is billed as the next pan-India film. With the presence of Bollywood stars like Amithab Bachchan, SyeRaa is expected to garner good attention of Hindi audience. The impressive box office run of Saaho in North India has cheered up the buyers of SyeRaa and they are very upbeat that the film will open strongly in all territories. But, SyeRaa might face a huge threat in North India from Hrithik Roshan’s WAR.
WAR is one of the highly anticipated films of Bollywood this season. The breathtaking trailers have build a solid hype and it is going to have a massive release all over the country. As many as 4500 screens have been finalized for WAR release. Due to the wide release of WAR, SyeRaa might get very low screen count in North. It is a known fact that SyeRaa will be released through AA films in Hindi. Despite their efforts, the exhibitors in North are not willing to accommodate screens for SyeRaa as they are betting big on WAR. They are refusing to allow even 20-30 percent screens for SyeRaa.
SyeRaa is made on a whopping budget and the makers have pinned a lot of hopes on Hindi openings. They are optimistic that SyeRaa will repeat what Saaho did in Hindi belt in the first weekend. But, the huge release of WAR might impact the openings of SyeRaa to a large extent than expected. This is going to be a huge setback and might ruin the trade prospects of SyeRaa.
Directed by Surender Reddy, SyeRaa narrates the story of unsung freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Ram Charan produced the film on Konidela Productions banner.
