Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu once again said that the State government is ready to establish steel plant in Kadapa. While blaming the Bharatiya Janata Party for going back on the promise to establish the steel plant at Kadapa, Chandrababu Naidu said that the State government will go ahead with its plans and establish the steel plant with its own resources. He spoke at a meeting of the home guards in Vijayawada on Monday.
Earlier on June 30, the Chief Minister had announced the State’s preparedness to establish the steel plant when he visited Kadapa to end the indefinite fast by party MP C M Ramesh.
His statement on Monday again shows his plans to take steel plant issue as potential one to fight against the BJP ahead of the next round of elections. He had initially planned to take on the BJP leadership on special category status demand. But, the BJP is hitting back at Chandrababu Naidu with his contradicting statements in the last four years against the special category status. They are circulating the statements and video clips of Chandrababu Naidu speaking against special category status, which was becoming difficult for the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu to counter.
He had now taken up the issues of steel plant at Kadapa and railway zone at Visakhapatnam. While the agitation for steel plant at Kadapa was already launched with Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh holding indefinite fast for 11 days, the TDP leadership is planning for a day long protest at Visakhapatnam on July 4 for the railway zone issue. TDP MP Avanti Srinivas had already announced that he would go on indefinite hunger strike in Visakhapatnam for railway zone.
It is on these two issues that the TDP is set to plan and execute its fight against the BJP and the Central government in the months to come.
