‘Mega’ mania has gripped the Telugu states as the release date of the Chiranjeevi’s comeback film Khaidi No 150 is just four days away for a grand release. The film is carrying unprecedented buzz among the audience and the worldwide pre release business has touched close to 90 Crores. Records shows are being planned all over the Telugu states and the first day numbers are going to be huge.
In overseas, Khaidi No 150 has an uphill task to break even. With the recent AMC – Carmike merger, the payout structure in overseas has changed and it gets tougher for distributors to see profits. Khaidi No 150 was sold for 10 Crores in overseas ( 7.5 Crores in US and 2.5 Crores in rest of US). Including the expenses , nearly 11 Crores is at stake in overseas on Khaidi No 150.
As the percentage of revenue comes down to 55-58% (Approx), Khaidi No 150 should collect close to $ 2.3 M – $ 2.6 M for break even. This is an uphill task with the new payout rules coming into play. We have to wait and see if Megastar can pull off a sensational haul in overseas with his charisma.
Disclaimer: Many distributors we talked to have no idea yet on exact payout percentages. So the payout might be off by few percentage points.
