Even though adult comedies generate good revenues with little investment, big ticket producers usually stay away from that genre to avoid controversies and criticism. Quite surprisingly, star Tamil producer Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green banner has bankrolled a D grade film ‘Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu’ which released last year – under Blue Ghost Pictures banner

The adult comedy, which collected good revenues in Tamil, received a lot of criticism and negativity from woman rights group and student federations for the heavy dose of vulgarity and obscene content in it. There were also demands for apologies and complaints were launched by several groups against the actors and producer.

Despite all this negativity, the adult comedy is now being remade into Telugu as Cheekati Gadhilo Chilakakottudu. The Telugu trailer is out recently and it has over the top adult dialogues with innuendos and metaphors. One would wonder why a star producer like Gnanavel Raja, who has a lot of popularity in Telugu and Tamil audience, produced such a regressive adult comedy. Isn’t it surprising ?
