His last release was Bengal Tiger in December, 2015. It has been seven months since then and three projects which were to star Ravi Teja have been shelved. It was first Dil Raju’s Yevado Okkadu, then the Tamil remake of Kanithan and after that the officially announced film with debutant Chakri, Robinhood.
If this continues, this will be the first time since 2002 (when his successful spree at the box office began with Idiot) that Ravi Teja isn’t going to have a single release for one whole year!
Troubled by remuneration issues, it seems the actor is losing out on some plum projects. One wonders why he doesn’t understand that his market is slowly deteriorating due to a spate of flops. A hit could help him prove his mettle yet again. Probably a compromise would help?
A self-made star, Ravi Teja’s journey to stardom is inspirational. But what’s plaguing the actor? Has the era of the Mass Maharaja ended? We’ll never know because he never tells.
