Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy made considerable criticism of the opposition TDP in his swearing-in speech. There are comments that Jagan made a political speech rather than using the occasion to set the tone for his future administration to show good results to the people.
Analysts say that Jagan is consciously continuing his political attack on the TDP, giving signals to YCP MLAs and leaders to do the same inside and outside the Assembly. This is to prevent the opposition from cornering and exposing the YCP government on the implementation of Navaratnalu promises. Jagan is heavily dependent on the Modi government at the Centre to effectively mobilise funds to fulfill poll promises. There’s still no clarity yet on the extent of Modi support.
Already, CM is facing criticism for increasing just Rs 250 for elders’ pensions. Tougher days are ahead in respect of promises made on Rythu Bharosa, YSR Asara, Cheyutha, fee reimbursement, prohibition, housing, etc.
