There is a lot of talk the MIM party of Owaisi will play the kingmaker role in the Telangana December 7 election. The Owaisis have come closer and friendly to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party in power for the past four and half years. Never before they have done so with such friendliness during earlier Congress and TDP regimes. For this, Hyderabad 3-time MP Asaduddin Owaisi emphatically says CM Chandrasekhara Rao has taken care of the welfare of the muslim minorities like never before and he deserves to become the CM once again.
The Majlis has taken a pro-TRS stand despite the charges being levelled by the opposition Prajakutami leaders for supporting ‘corrupt’ KCR. In this election, the Owaisis are contesting in eight segments in the State. In other places, they are appealing to their party cadres and muslim minorities to defeat the BJP and the Prajakutami parties. The Majlis is opposed to the BJP along ideological lines while it criticises Congress and TDP for their unfriendly approach when they were in power in the past.
The Majlis leaders recalled they had bad experiences with Prajakutami allies like there used to communal riots in Hyderabad city at that time whenever politicians had internal clashes. They had faced court cases and also their activists jailed many times. KCR has attracted the muslim minorities by giving them more than Rs. 2000 crore budget for their welfare besides extending benefits to students. The Majlis takes steps to weaken the BJP in Hyderabad city and for this, they take the support of other parties as well.
