TDP National President N Chandrababu Naidu took a very calculated decision by fielding his party nominee in Huzurnagar assembly seat. In doing so, he gave a clear indication to the Modi-Shah duo that the TDP is no longer an ally of the Congress party. This is very important for Naidu as he has to certainly form a strong alliance to defeat CM Jaganmohan Reddy in 2023 Jamili Election. Clearly, Naidu has made the first important step towards removing hurdles for a future alliance of TDP, BJP and Pawan Kalyan in Andhra.
Analysts say that the BJP is interested more in destroying the TRS in Telangana. Now TDP is going to give some advantage to TRS at the cost of Congress nominee Padmavati. The BJP is not worried about this much as it has no strong support base in Huzurnagar right now.
The multi-cornered contest is expected to help TRS in a big way. Interestingly, YCP President Jaganmohan Reddy has not fielded his candidate obviously to help KCR. By fielding its candidate, TDP is indirectly supporting TRS. That is the gimmick that KCR had played to create favourable atmosphere in this by-election. It’s clear that both Andhra parties are helping KCR.
