The Polavaram project future is thrown into total uncertainty because of the YCP government’s decisions and consequent orders from the High Court. The BJP AP leaders have launched serious attacks on Jagan Circar for its failure to handle the project properly. There are doubts that this may eventually lead to deadlock in Polavaram completion for many more years. Now, the BJP leaders have changed their strategy.
BJP AP leaders are asking YCP Regime to hand over the project to the Polavaram Project Authority, which functions under the Modi government at the Centre. If YCP is not interested and not unable to deal with this project efficiently, then there is no alternative for it except to step away from the project. If Jagan Regime still sticks to its adamant and blind attitude, then the entire project will be in total jeopardy.
There is lot of pressure from farmers’ associations and political leaders for early completion of Polavaram. This is especially more from coastal districts. Even the YCP leaders are losing all hopes on their government’s control over this prestigious project. If the Centre steps in, it will automatically revive the old agreements. The Navayuga Company will continue its work to complete Polavaram without much delay.
