Talented director Harish Shankar delivered a million dollar film in overseas with Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh in 2012. At that he had a rare distinction of being one of the fewest directors in Tollywood who scored a big hit in overseas. Unfortunately, after Gabbar Singh he failed to impress overseas audience as his next films Ramayya Vasthavayya, Subrahmanyam for Sale and Duvvada Jagannadh didn’t make an impact there.
Now, Harish Shankar has a good chance to bounce back in overseas with a good hit. His upcoming film with Varun Tej titled as Valmiki is gearing up for release this 20th. The film is an official remake of Tamil hit Jigarthanda. Varun Tej is coming from back to back blockbusters in overseas with Fidaa, Tholi Prema and F2. Valmiki has done a decent business in overseas as the rights were snapped for 3 Crores by a noted distribution house.
The teasers of Valmiki generated good hype in audience. So, Harish Shankar has a good chance to bounce back strongly in overseas by scoring a decent box office hit after seven years.
