“Nenu simham laanti vaadni. Adi gaddam geesukoledu, nenu geesukogalanu..adi okkte theda. Migilindi anthaa…anthaa..same to same. Ayinaa..last panch mandi ayinappudu…aa kikkee verappaa.”
-This is one of the popular dialogues of ‘Power Star’ Pawan Kalyan in his blockbuster ‘Attaarintiki Daaredi?’. A rough translation of the same Telugu dialogue into English is as follows:
“I am like a lion. He can’t shave but I can (shave). That is the only difference (between a lion and me). In remaining aspect, we both are same. However, if we serve the last punch..the kick it gives is different yaar.”
True, Pawan Kalyan, younger brother of the Mega Star, Chiranjeevi, is like a lion for youngsters, especially Kapus of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions. Knowing the fact (that he is a lion) pretty well, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the political chanakya N.Chandrababu Naidu cajoled him to join with BJP-TDP combine during the elections. The Jana Sena founder, being an youth icon, took potshots against the Congress, belonged to his beloved brother Chiranjeevi, in well-attended public meetings before the elections. Pawan attracted youngsters towards the combine with his iconic stature and fiery speeches.
It seems Pawan Kalyan completely believed the seasoned politician Naidu and took everything for granted.
For example, in a public meeting held in Ananatapur in May 2014, the Jana Sena chief made it clear that voters can question him (Pawan) if the TDP fails to implement the promises made in the manifesto. He also said that he would implement them on behalf of Jana Sena.
Pawan later came out against the massive land pooling taken up by the TDP government and announced that he would sit for fast-unto-death for the sake of evacuees but later toned down his comments. Ater a tete-a-tete with Chandrababu Naidu, some time in March 2015, he went to an extent to announce that he would like to see Chandrababu as the Chief Minister till 2024, if media reports are to be believed.
Now the entire Andhra Pradesh is eagerly waiting for Power Star’s take on the sudden political developments arose out of the fast unto death of Kapu Nadu leader Mudragada Padmanabham and the mishandling of the entire sensitive episode by the Andhra Pradesh government.
When will he come out of the hibernation and speak out on the issue is the million dollar question that is reportedly haunting his brother Chiranjeevi too!
Going by the Power Star’s twitter handle’s message, posted on February 7, 2016, he had already requested the Andhra Pradesh government to have “direct talks with the Kapu leaders spearheading the ongoing agitation reservation issue, which was an election promise originally made by the TDP.”
He further said: “A group of balanced intellectuals should be entrusted with the responsibility of finding a mutually acceptable solution before it juggernauts into an uncontainable situation.”
Apparently, the TDP didn’t give a damn to the Power Star’s suggestion. True to his prediction, the situation snowballed into an unsavory situation. Now this is the time for the lion to appear and also to have the “last punch.”

At this juncture, it is very safe to make a wild guess that Pawan Kalyan is going to surprise TDP and Naidu by taking up cudgels on behalf of Kapus soon.
