Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has slammed the Congress party for observing Tuesday as black day when the Telangana government signed a historic pact with the Maharashtra government for construction of barrages on river Godavari.
KCR was addressing a huge gathering at Begumpet soon after alighting from a special aircraft at the airport on Wednesday. Referring to the remarks of TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, KCR dared him to bring the agreement document of Tammidi-Hatti project where in the Congress leader claimed that the agreement was already made to built the project at the height of 152 ft.
“I request Uttam Kumar Reddy to bring the agreement copy to Begumpet, I would straight away reach Raj Bhavan and tender my resignation papers,” KCR thundered.
When the whole State is expressing happiness over the pact with the Maharashtra government, the Congress leaders are playing cheap politics by staging dharna before Ranga Reddy Collectorate, he said.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday blamed the Congress party for merging Telangana forcefully into erstwhile Andhra State 60 years ago.
After that, sever injustice was meted out to Telangana when Devanur project was abandoned, Upper Krishna project and several changes were made to Nagarjuna Sagar project only with a view to diverting share of Telangana waters, KCR alleged. “But the Congress government had remained tight-lipped,” he said.
He was addressing a large number of TRS leaders and workers at Begumpet after arriving from Mumbai in a special aircraft. KCR received a rousing welcome from the party cadre for signing the historic agreement on Godavari waters with Maharashtra.
Terming the agreement as historic in the history of Telangana State, KCR said the event should be written with gold lining marking its significance.
Narrating the present ordeal of farmers in the State, KCR said there would be cheers among the farming community in next two years if the irrigated water is diverted to the parched fields from Kaleshwaram – Yellampalli and Mid-Maneru Dam (MMD).
