Telugu film director Krish Jagarlamudi, basking in the success of Telugu historic drama “Gauthamiputra Satakarni“, says he has plans to reunite with actor Akshay Kumar with whom he had previously worked in “Gabbar Is Back”.
“A project with Akshay is in the offing, but it’s too early to talk about it,” Krish told IANS.
His next immediate project (in Telugu) will be with actor Venkatesh, and it will go on the floors soon.
“After directing Balakrishna’s 100th film, I have been asked to direct Venkatesh’s 75th film. It really feels special to be associated with stars on their special projects. Venkatesh and I are teaming up for a socio-fantasy film,” he said.
He is happy that the historic drama “Gauthamiputra Satakarni” has been appreciated.
“Everybody from the film fraternity only have great things to say about the film. My phone hasn’t stopped ringing and the response has been overwhelming. But I can’t take full credit for the success as I need to thank my team and Balakrishna for making this project special,” he said.
“Gauthamiputra Satakarni”, the story of an unsung warrior from Satavahana dynasty, is running to packed houses everywhere.
Asked what this success has taught him, Krish said: “It proved my belief to make films purely on content and not deviate for any commercial reasons. With this success, I stand vindicated and it has strengthened my conviction to continue making the kind of films I believe in.”
