The latest remarks made by Telangana MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav is stirring speculation about the return gift promise by chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Talasani on Monday said he was ready to play an active role in Andhra Pradesh politics for the welfare of backward classes (BCs). This gives further scope for speculation that whether KCR directly participates in the campaign supporting YSRCP or indirectly support by guiding with his strategies and fielding leaders like Talasani.
Talasani participated in a meeting hosted by Yadava Mahasabha at Ibrahimpatnam near Vijayawada. Speaking on the occasion, Talasani said: “I am ready to lead BCs in Andhra Pradesh. Telangana government is giving top priority to Yadava community. KCR has allocated a good number of MLA tickets to Yadava community and it’s an honour to us. I want Yadavas to become active in AP politics as well. If we sit at home, opportunities don’t knock our doors. I will support Yadava and other BCs to take part in the politics. TDP government is confining BCs to only select welfare schemes only. The Chandrababu Naidu-led government is including BCs in the power-sharing. We’ll definitely give return gift to Chandrababu Naidu. Just building Cyber Tower in 450-year-old Hyderabad doesn’t mean Telangana development.”
Talasani Srinivas Yadav won from Sanatnagar constituency in Hyderabad in the recent elections and in 2014 also he was elected on TDP ticket.
It may be recalled that addressing the first press conference soon after Assembly results, KCR said that Chandrababu Naidu campaigned extensively in Telangana to unseat TRS. “But, Naidu couldn’t do so. However, we’ll give return gift to Chandrababu Naidu in the forthcoming Assembly elections in AP,” said KCR in the media briefing.
